Dietmar Bär (actor) meets the Bär family in
Berlin
Dear Bär
Family,
Amongst all my appointments, I
have finally managed to find the time to quickly write you these few
lines.
II was very pleased to meet you in person in
Berlin. I have been wearing BÄR shoes ever since discovering your
Lüneburg branch while filming on location there in
2005.
As I told you in Berlin I am always fascinated
to meet people who are so dedicated and who identify so wholeheartedly
with what they do.
The harmony of your family comes
across in your catalogues and was certainly something I felt
immediately. When I met you in Berlin, I almost felt as if I knew you
personally. Maybe, as an artist, I am more sensitive to such feelings
and emotions but I honestly believe it is possible to feel it in the
shoes. From the very beginning I felt as if I was walking barefoot and,
whether you believe it or not, I have on occasions actually forgotten
to take my shoes off at home.

It’s almost as if you are not
actually wearing shoes. I am often on my feet from morning till night,
but since I started wearing your shoes I have never experienced that
feeling of having tired, sore feet. Your BÄR shoes, that even happen to
share my name, have done me and my feet a real favour – and that is
something I just had to tell you.
Maybe we will once again have the chance to meet in
Berlin where I would be happy to continue this conversation.
With kind regards,
Dietmar

Reiner Calmund swears by High Performance running shoes by
BÄR

German football
heavyweight Reiner Calmund is being followed by the German TV channel
Stern TV in his fight to take off about six stones in a year. He is
being helped on his way by a competent advisory team led by Calmund’s
friend and coach, Joey Kelly, in a project which has been christened
IRON CALLI. Walking is a
central part of this project. All the usual suspects failed the test in
the search for suitable shoes. Reiner Calmund then followed up an
insider tip and discovered BÄR. BÄR’s High Performance and Reiner
Calmund have been inseparable ever since.
The BÄR
Team wishes Reiner Calmund all the best in his fight against those
remaining pounds.
Ultra athlete Achim Heukemes and BÄR: a success
story

He used to drive
a truck all over the world; today he runs all over the world and the
distances are getting longer and longer. His name is Achim Heukemes –
ultra athlete and ultramarathon runner. The word “BÄR” is writ large on
his successful running shoes, and this is how it all
started:
Achim Heukemes met Sebastian Bär – what
else would you expect – while out running. They ran together, got
talking and soon afterwards they pooled their experience and started
working together. Since then, BÄR has sponsored Achim Heukemes. He is
as important to BÄR as automobile construction is to Formula 1. BÄR has
its shoe philosophy tested by Heukemes in extreme races wearing “High
Performance”, BÄR’s special running shoe, to ensure that new
developments and experience are incorporated into the continuous
optimisation of the entire BÄR shoe range.
In his
five years of cooperation with BÄR, Heukemes has run approximately
31,000 miles in training and competition in the “High Performance”
shoes – at up to 55 degrees through Death Valley in California, over
thousands of miles across Australia and Europe, to the highest summits
and the deepest valleys of extreme racing.
“As our
test runner, Heukemes embodies the positive experience with our running
shoes because he reaches the finishing line in good condition and
without injury in spite of the enormous challenges he has to face,”
explains senior spokesman Christian Bär. This is how more and more BÄR
customers are benefiting from the experience of his
races.
As a BÄR customer, the preliminary rounds
will always go well for you because select professional athletes have
already really put BÄR shoes through their paces. BÄR – things will go
well for you®.
And once again, 58-year-old ultra
athlete Achim Heukemes is taking up the ultimate challenge: with BÄR
GmbH as sponsor, he set off on one of the longest and toughest
competitions in the world on 19 April 2009 – the TransEurope Footrace
2009. Heukemes is taking the chance to test the new prototype running
shoes, the even lighter and more dynamic BÄR “Light Performance”. With
running distances of between 40 and 50 miles every day without a rest
day, the 68 ultramarathon runners will be covering around 2,800 miles
in 64 days – from Bari in southern Italy through Austria, Germany,
Denmark and Sweden, up to the North Cape in Norway.

We will keep you up-to-date with what is
happening in the race with pictures and reports from the road and we
are all eagerly awaiting the moment when Achim Heukemes crosses the
finishing line in the very north of Europe – hopefully as the winner –
just in time for the summer solstice on 21 June
2009.
